Attire Culture

De Wu Attire Culture
The unique culture for wushu attire was formed in the 1980s at the early stage of growth for De Wu Pugilistic Association.
The implementation of the uniform attire is to emphasize the unity and to provide the students a common identity and status in the association.
It soon became an integral part of the cultural training where maintaining this culture requires effort from all students to uphold discipline and respect in the association.
Till today, this attire culture is still implemented in every location that is under the big umbrella of the association.
Though the students are required to wear the wushu training attire, the instructors are also under the influence of the culture.
In turn, there are three different sets of uniform attire for the respective members, namely the students, the assistant coaches, and the main coaches.
De Wu Belt System
Everyone, including the instructors, have to wear their belts of different colour, each representing a different level.
With the overwhelming number of students, the association decides to improve the syllabus and belt system in order to cater to the increasing demand and needs.
As the association has been passing down countless traditional routines through the generations, together with the competitive and contemporary wushu forms, there are much more the students can learn these days.
Henceforth, with the addition of routines in the training syllabus that enriches the journey of wushu learning, a few more belt levels are introduced.
From the previous five belt levels, there are a total of eight today, with White Belt for the beginners to Black Belt that represents the most advanced level.
[List of belt level]
1. White (Beginner Level)
2. Green-White
3. Green
4. Red-White
5. Red
6. Brown-White
7. Brown
8. Black (Advanced Level)
